LeonBalogun set to see out his contract – Read More Details
Football News Live Today Update, Folarin Balogun is likely to leave in the summer as he is reportedly set to see out the remaining six months of his Arsenal contract and walk out for free.
Balogun’s contract with Arsenal is set to expire in the summer and is likely to reject a new deal at the Emirates. The striker’s representatives have been in talks with foreign clubs as he is allowed to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club this month.
Talks of a new contract with the Gunners have stalled and the player might not leave on loan dispute attracting interests from Championship clubs.
“Well, you need three parties to make a deal. For sure the club wants to make a deal and the manager wants to make a deal; the player wants to stay, and I’m not sure about the agent,” said Arteta.
“I’m not saying he’s stopping it, but we need to find an agreement with him. We are negotiating in the end with an agent and a player who wants to stay at the club, and we need to find an agreement. I’m telling you we are doing everything we can to keep him here.
“And hopefully from the other side, they are doing the same and they are defending the same interests – which is the player’s interests, which is to stay at the football club and successful with us.”
Arteta has expressed his desire to keep the Nigerian at Arsenal, who made his debut earlier this season.
