IREX pairs CEE fellows with civil society organizations around the country for a three-month practicum. The fellows are supported over a three-month, practical professional practicum by designated supervisors and peers.
Leadership and Civic Engagement Academy: Through an engaging curriculum that incorporates service learning, in-person trainings, mentorship, expert coaching, and membership in a worldwide network, CEE fellows explore the program topics.
Community Engagement Initiative (CEP): CEE fellows conceive and organize a community engagement project to carry out once they return home with assistance from their U.S. host organization and mentors. These initiatives are carried out in the fellows’ home communities after they leave the United States.

Competition for the CEE Program is merit-based and available to aspiring members of the community and leaders in developing civil society.
